Financing

By law, SNCI is entrusted with a mission of general interest to contribute to the implementation of Luxembourg’s economic policies, through its financing activities (both direct and indirect) of commercial enterprises. As a public-law banking institution, it enjoys its own legal personality.

While ensuring the sustainability of its operations, SNCI acts as a complementary player to private stakeholders, bringing them together both in terms of “financing” and “expertise” from public and private actors (including within the public sector), in order to maximize the impact of its action and create leverage effects. SNCI’s activity consists of facilitating access to financing for Luxembourg companies, particularly SMEs. The Bank thus offers four loan financing programs—proStart, proDevelop, proInnovate, and proTransfer—targeting companies’ projects at different stages of their lifecycle.

SNCI’s investment fund activity also contributes to broadening the sources of financing available to Luxembourg businesses. SNCI also fulfills its public mission by holding shareholdings in commercial companies that underpin the country’s economic development (notably in the energy, communications, and transport sectors), with competitiveness, sustainability, and the resilience of the economy as overarching objectives.
